We meet again!

Hello everyone!

Sorry for not updating for so long. We were really busy with school and exams.
Our exams just ended, so to celebrate we decided to have an outing !

We went to Plaza Singapura and ate lunch at 'The Soup Spoon'. Have you eaten there before? I ordered a tuna and mayo sandwich which cost $7.90. It was quite yummy and filling. The bread kept falling apart though. Ruka ate lunch already so she did not order anything while Ruki ordered mushroom soup with sourdough bread.

She wondered if sourdough bread smelled sour. Hahas! :D

After lunch, we walked around Plaza Singapura for awhile before going to the Neoprint booth to take a few pictures and talk. Here are some pictures:

Cheese! Our hair colors are so different !

Playing with Ruka's iphone 5 camera . Its good for taking photos like this!

After taking photos, we took the train to Junction 8 in Bishan so check out the price of Pokemon Black & White 2. For all the pokemon newbies out there, Pokemon is a classic. My childhood. The epitome of GBA RPG-adventure games. For more information on BW2, check out the official website here: http://www.pokemonblackwhite.com/pokemon-black-and-white-2/#en-us/home

Ruki bought Pokemon Black 1 today while I reserved Pokemon Black 2 so that I can come back and buy it on saturday. I can't wait to play! :D

All in all, I had a  g r e a t  time today . I am really glad that we could meet up after so long ! Thats all for now, stay tuned!

Dolly Wink #11 @ Shibuya Gals SG Meetup C:

HEY EVERYONE! RUKA HERE (>0<) Hope you guys are doing well. I do apologise for the hiatus. Oh well, I'm back(: Today will be a blog and review post regarding

#1 SHIBUYA GALS SG MEETUP!! <3
#2 DOLLY WINK OTONA SERIES NO. 11 ;D

First, the meetup. Shibuya Gals Sg is Singapore's only dedicated gyaru makeup corner, and they sell their products excusively at Watsons. They have a facebook page so if you are into gyaru, or are just curious, do check it out and like it ^^ They're pretty dang awesome! They provide info on the latest gyaru trends and regularly feature the totally super mega awesome gyaru model TSUBASA MASUWAKA! A meetup was arranged at Watsons, Ngee An City shopping centre so I decided to check it out along with Ruki.
Since I was one of the first 50 to register, I was entitled to a goody bag!!! The stuff in it was really neat ;3 Deco lashes, nail polish and eyelash fix!!!!!!!!!!! <3 There were nine gyaru blogger senseis there and they gave a live demonstration/makeover type thing with commentary consisting on loads of helpful tips. The nine (really pretty) senseis each gave a makeup bag to the winners of the lucky dip. There were loads of different styles of gyarus there, even the senseis too! Hime-kei, rokku gyaru and SOOOO much more. Totally worth going, plus, i LOVE the stuff they sell. Ruki and I didn't win the luck dip, but overall I was super happy and the event was really fun! Sorry about the lack of pictures... We both forgot our cameras and my phone cam just doesn't cut it. Here's a pic from online of the guru bloggers:

On to the lashes review!
PRESENTING...
KOJI Dolly Wink Eyelash No. 11 Pure Sweet from the Otona series ^^

EASY POP-OPEN TYPE CASE WITH TWO PAIRS OF LASHES
AND A PRETTY PICTURE OF TSUBASA-CHAN <3

THE BACK OF THE COVER

THIS IS THE EFFECT THE LASHES ARE SUPPOSED TO CREATE C;

The lash band is not as long as the typical Dolly Wink lashes, since the Otona Series is aimed at getting a more natural look. The fibres fork out somewhat parallel to one another instead of in triangles. Some loose fibres are placed in between the thicker "bunches" of fibres so the lashes blend really well with my own lashes. The lash fibres are pretty long, but shorter than the typical Dolly Wink ones. But I still love it. In fact, I think I like it better! I have reaaaaaaaaaaaaally small eyes so sometimes I find the typical Dolly Wink lashes (eg. my #1s) too dramatic and if I wear em without bottom lashes, I have to be careful not to make my eyes look too "top heavy". So these are perfect for me cos I can wear em with or without bottom lashes with no worries and they look natural yet really luscious and long. Volume is a little lacking, but oh well. (/*0*)/

Some pics of me at Cosfest just this month! I'm using Dolly Wink #11 and #5!

WITHOUT MY GLASSES. PRETTY LONG, EH?

WITH GLASSES, YET THEY STILL LOOK NOT BAD. NATURAL LOOKING BUT SUPER PRRETTY-FIED XD
TRUST ME, WITHOUT FALSIES, YOU CAN'T SEE MY LASHES, ESPECIALLY ON CAMERA x:

RUKI, ME AND RIIKO

Ratings time!
Packaging: 8.5/10 the pastael colours are pretty (and so is TSUBASA!)
Value: 6/10 kinda expensive though... Typical Dolly Winks. But at least the quality is good.
Length: 8/10 quite long but still natural-ish looking. me likey ^^
Volume: 5/10 not a lot, honestly... /:
Overall: 7.5/10 Love em', but would hesitate cos of the price -sighs-

So, that's about it! See you guys soon C:

Back to BLACK

Hey y'all! It's time for another reviewwwwwwww (Y)
Yup! Today's post is titled "Back to BLACK" since it's a comparative liquid eyeliner review similar to the one Ruki did, titled BLACK, which you can view here C:

Today's review will feature the Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner BLACK #01 and K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner WP [Super Black].

TADA~ ~

These are the packagings for the eyeliners, the Heroine Make one (HM) on the left and the K-Palette (K-P) on the right. The packagings were all in Japanese, but an English transation was stuck on so if you want more info on the individual eyeliners, just take a peek at the back <: You can get both of 'em at Watsons, KP @ SGD$19.90 and HM @SGD$18.90. KP is also available at Sasa, where i got mine(:

The Heroine Make one is a little more extravagant, with a pink quilt design on it. It also advertises its super-fine pen tip (0.1mm) on the front. The K-Palette has a more minimalist approach to its packaging. It's simple, just black and red.

For this review, for all swatches, package shots etc., KP will always be on top for simple reference. LET'S START (>v<)////

HM's "pop open" type casing kinda reminds me of DollyWink Lash cases ^^
= easy to open, yay!

Sorry, didn't take pics of the KP one, heh... Basically just a box type. So it's also easy to open.

They're actually exactly the same size! -gasp-

As you can see, the HM one is a pretty maroon colour with gold designs. KP keeps it simple, just black and whitish-silver(:

KP has a longer tip though...

The KP tip seems to separate more easily as well, though not by much. Or it could just be because I use it more often? hmmm -shrugs-

The HM one is finer and just sliiiiightly more pigmented.

Honestly, though, the difference isn't all that big and I find the K-Palette one smoother to apply. Also, since it's so fine, the HM one takes longer to get the same effect as KP. But I guess if you are the type to like drawing REALLY FINE eyeliner, then go for the HM one.

Smudge Test!!

Same as Ruki, I rubbed the lines vigorously with my fingers. Both flaked quite a bit, but the KP one held up a lot better. Besides, I rubbed pretty hard and I don't think anyone does that to their eyes, makeup or not ('''._.) So chances are, they won't ever fade to this extent. In any case, they are only roughly... 10(?) cm long, so you can always just carry it around for a quick touch up!

Waterproof-ness Test!

Held my hand under running tap water and then rubbed gently. As can be seen both flaked, but once again, KP hed up better. As in the before test, this is also pretty unrealistic for a test since none of us will end up with our eyes under a constant, relatively heavy downpour and then rub them, in my opinion. So... yeah. Same with the above, you can always touch up anyway.

In the end, the winner for both tests is...
K-Palette!!!!!!!!!

But I think the Heroine Make one is pretty darn awesome too! I won't rate them since I think the effectiveness of the liners largely depends on your skin type and preference. I do encourage you guys to give them both a try, and see what works for you. I think that's the most important thing. Some of you may not even like liquid liners! So in the end, read many reviews, ask around, then make an independent decision.

Oh, and if any of you were curious, I briefly borrowed Ruki's K-Palette in Black while we were out on an outing for a quick comparison.

The SUPER BLACK (mine, bottom) is slightly bigger than the BLACK (Ruki's, top).

The only difference we could find was the size and the "WP",
in terms of packaging.

A light swatch: Super black acutally is black-er! ^^

GOOD LUCK GIRLS (and guys?) <3,

RUKA

GUYS PLEASE NOTE THE THREE OF US HAVE UPDATED QUITE A LOT IN THE LAST WEEK OR SO, PLEASE DO CHECK OUT ALL OUR ENTRIES C:
It was really awesome, since we went to different schools and so can't see each other as often as before.(>A<) Yeahhhh. Sad. Ruki, Riiko, Amanda and I met at Bugis first and Riiyuki and Sotong joined us later. We ate Yoshinoya student meals for brunch and checked out a couple stores like Artbox before we met Riiyuki at the neoprint shop. Neoprints round #1 START! Then, we chcked out the new Uniqlo @ Bugis+ (the old illuma). They had some pretty awesome opening day sales, like jeans going at SGD$20 and SGD$4.90 tank tops! Not sure how long it goes on for though, sorry guys... Sotong caught up with us after and we went for neoprints round #2 \(*O*)/ We headed to J.Co for some snacks and to chillax and talk, and overall just
HAD TRUCKLOADS OF FUNNNNN~~

NOW MOVING ON TO THE HAPPY PICTURES!

Co-ords for the day! "Holey" top layered over midi dress
The theme for the outing was "your style", which for me means
 a. Hole-y stuff
b. Layering
c. Cinch in the waist (big belts, etc.)

OTW to bugis! I was late /: Gomen ne, Riiko!
[low, bad camera angle, hence fat face, BLEH]

L-R: Amanda, Riiko, Ruki, Riiyuki, Sotong (Joy), Ruka

Somehow, our post-neoprint/camwhore session snack time became...
play-with-eyeliner time WAHAHAHA

Riiyuki (remember Simca from the EOY post?) & I
<3

Reaaaally like the black n' white effect here ;D

 Group camwhores!!!

Diamond Lash ~Green Tray~

Hello everyone!
It's RUKI here~
Today I'm here to post the review I promised, so here we go:

When i was in Japan, I was pleasantly surprised to find the new range of Diamond Lash lashes available at a popular discount store, Donki. The green tray range, リトルウィンクシリーズ(Little Wink Series), is a collection of natural looking lashes that is ever-so-slightly similar to Dolly Wink's Otona series. As the trays hung prettily on the rack, I couldn't help but grab a couple of them to try.(´∀`)
So, today's review would be on one of the lashes from the green tray series~

シークレット Eye (Secret Eye)
This set of lashes seems somewhat similar to Dolly Wink's Otona series in terms of length and volume, both of which these lashes do not have much of, which makes them perfect for school or work~ ヾ(´^ω^)ノ♪
The length of the lashes at the inner corners are perfect for me as they are not too long. the lashes graduate towards the ends where it emphasise on the length and volume which would help achieve the "Cat eye" look. The spine is wonderfully soft, but not too soft that it makes the lashes hard to apply, and transparent so that it will look more natural when applied. The fibres are not to dark like some lashes, which would further make the lashes seem more natural.(≧▽≦)They are also arrange in such way that the fibres extend from the spine in a "V" shape that makes the strands seem less uniformed and more natural-looking.
Overall, these as the most natural lashes i own! But they are fast becoming my favourite as they don't look too dramatic with light make-up and provide just enough length and volume to make your eye "pop". The lashes are also very easy to apply with the flexible spine. These are great for days where you want to dress up a little without going over the top~
Here are a few pictures of me wearing the lashes before i went to meet up with the other Kagayamis (´・ω・`):

Sorry for the blur picture... i was kinda in a rush ><
here's a better picture but the lighting is kinda wonky O_o
*closed eyes

first camwhore picture in awhile! xDD
yes...I have short fingers... D;
and here's the liz lisa dress i wore for the outing ♥
Packaging : 7/10 (kinda plain but it serves its purpose. Love the colour though!)
Value : 8.5/10 (Pretty cheap compared to other brands like Dolly Wink)
Length : 6.5/10 (only long at the outer ends, but i think the length is perfect!)
Volume : 5/10 (hardly any volume, but its great for the natural look!)
Overall satisfaction : 8.5 (would definately buy again, but i think its only available in japan at the moment D;)
So, that's the end of my review~~~ see 'ya guys soon ♥

♥ ruki
P.S: i can't resist posting another picture of yama-chan...

Reunion Outing

Hello!
We had a reunion outing to catch up with one another today because we are all in different schools now.
We had a yummy lunch at YOSHINOYA @ Bugis Junction and I ordered a salmon bowl while Ruki and Ruka ordered beef bowls. The student meal was quite worth it as it was $4.90 and came with a drink.
Ruka and Ruki
After lunch, we walked around Bugis Junction for awhile before going to take Neoprints. We tried the new machine today and it was quite stressful to squeeze into the small booth. ( Three more friends joined us ) The new machine had pretty neat features like the option to make you look slimmer by making you 'longer' and themed decorations to suit different types of outings/events. However, the neoprints turned out quite yellow. Maybe it was an option we pressed.
We choose the 'Girl's Day Out' theme to decorate our neoprints. :}

After neoprints, we took some photos in the booth, trying to copy the expressions of the models. Hahas!
Here are some of the photos we took:

We went to Illuma after taking photos to see the new UNIQLO outlet which opened today.
It was really crowded with a long queue to the changing rooms. I think the most impressive part of the sale was the jeans which only cost $20 . UNIQLO jeans for $20 was an amazing bargain and thus, Ruki went home today owning a new pair of olive colored jeans.
While Ruka and Ruki walked around in UNIQLO, I went upstairs to visit the other shops like this casual Japanese boutique on level 3. I cannot remember the exact name of the shop, but it was just next to the escalator.

I found an amazing blue vest there with a light blue stripped hood. The zipper was pretty unique as it was in the form of a keyring. I would have bought the vest if it was not so expensive. ( The vest cost $89.90 ) D:

We went back to Illuma after completing our shopping and went to sit down and chat at the food area in the basement level. It was really fun talking to everyone after so many months. I am glad that we could meet up despite our busy and very different schedules.
I hope that we can have another outing soon !
